Pilgrim Tour in Georgia
We invite you on a pilgrimage trip to the monasteries of Georgia, to discovery of new,
unfamiliar ancient holy places, people, surprises and sensations.
Transfer from the airport to hotel. After a little break we will have a light walk tour around
night Tbilisi-capital of Georgia. We will walk around old parts of Tbilisi. You will be able to
see the culture mixed buildings, streets and get closer to the real Georgian culture and
traditions. After walk we will have dinner in a restaurant with Georgian traditional dishes,
dance and folk music. After dinner we are going back to hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
After breakfast we drive to David Gareji- a complex of Georgian cave monasteries of VI
century, located 60 km south-east of Tbilisi. This is the place where travelers who make their
way to the semi-desert landscapes where David Gareja Monastery Complex rests—between
the border of Georgia and Azerbaijan—will find sheer rock faces slanting into the green
foliage of rugged mountains where quiet rooms for worship were carved out. Next
destination is Bodbe Monastery with the grave of Saint Nino as well as the miraculous spring
nearby. Saint Nino was spreading Christianity in Georgia in IV century. After visiting the
monastery, we go to Sighnaghi – City of love which overlooks the Alazani valley and opens
to visitors the magnificent views of the Great Caucasus Range. We will have lunch in Lost
ridge Ranch, which is located in Sighnaghi “town of love” After lunch you will have free
time to buy souvenirs and walk through the narrow old streets and feel Georgian spirit.

After breakfast you will visit Nekresi Monastery complexs. It is standing on a hill and is
facing a beautiful view of the Alazani Valley. Although it was founded by St. Abibo
Nekreseli, one of the Thirteen Syrian monks who came to Georgia in the 6th century to
strengthen Christian faith but already in the 4th century one of the first Christian churches
was built here. After on our back way to Tbilisi you will visit Gremi. Gremi is a 16th century
architectural monument – the royal citadel and the Church of the Archangels. The complex is
what has survived from the once flourishing town of Gremi and is located east of the present-
day village of the same name. You will enjoy lunch and wine tasting in Telavi "Chateau
Mere". Return to Tbilisi.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
After Breakfast you will visit Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia and a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. Here you visit the Samtavro Nunnery, where according to the legend, Saint
Nino lived and preached Christianity. You also explore church Svetitskhoveli, the place
where the robe of Jesus is saved. Georgian historical memory the city has long been
associated with its citadel, The Gori Fortress, which is built on a cliffy hill is overlooking the
central part of the modern city. On another hill stands the 18th century St. George’s church of
Gorijvari, a popular place of pilgrimage. You will have a lunch in the restaurant and after the
rote lays to Uplistsikhe Cave Town -fortress. The fortress is mentioned in chronicles from the
earliest times. Its history begins in the I-II millennium B.C. Borjomi sightseeing, park, tasting
of famous Borjomi mineral water straight from natural spring.

After Breakfast leaving to Rabati castle. It was developed under the influence of different
cultures over subsequent centuries and this is reflected in its architecture. Within the 7
hectares castle complex there is a Church, a Mosque, a Minaret and a Synagogue. Next
sightseeing is Vardzia. The underground halls of the “mountain queen,” dug out of the solid
rock, Vardzia looks like it was taken directly from the pages of Lord of the Rings. In reality it
is a cave-palace-monastery built not by dwarfs, but by Georgians in the Caucasus for their
fabled queen Tamar. Lunch in a restaurant with traditional Georgian dishes. Transfer to
Tbilisi
Overnight in Tbilisi.
After breakfast we will visit the old part of the city. Located strategically at the crossroads
between Europe and Asia and lying along the historic Silk Road routes. The history of the
city can be seen by its architecture, where the Rustiveli Avenue and downtown are blended
with the narrower streets of old Tbilisi district. Despite being overwhelmingly Orthodox
Christian, Tbilisi is one of the few places in the world where a synagogue and a mosque are
located next to each other in the ancient Bath district, several hundred meters from the
Metekhi Church. A moderate combination of sightseeing and walking tour of Tbilisi will start
by visiting an important historic part of the city- Abanot-ubani, the place; Lunch in a
restaurant with traditional Georgian dishes.
Continue with excursion in old Tbilisi, Botanical Gardens up to Narikala Fortress; visit Sioni
Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, Metekhi church and Sameba Cathedral; after a short coffee-
break at café-streets of Shardeni and Erekle with their fascinating atmosphere and souvenir
shopping possibility, a walk along the Rustaveli Avenue (downtown) will give visitors the
opportunity to experience fully the rhythm and the beauty of the capital of Georgia. You will
have free time. You can walk on your own, visit famous museums, to see pictures of
Pirosmani, visit the flea market at the Dry Bridge. You can spend this day on shopping in
Tbilisi or sit in the most famous restaurant.

On this day you have a free time and after will be transfer to the airport.
